When we were kids, it was a big thrill to drive around on the riding mower in first gear—without the blades running—and under the careful supervision of our parents. That feeling was soon replaced by heat exhaustion, fatigue and frustration after we were appointed full-time lawn care specialist by our somewhat smug parents.
