Davey Names New District Manager for Naperville, Illinois

KENT, OH – The Davey Tree Expert Company has announced the promotion of Charles Shonts to district manager of the Naperville, Illinois, territory of The Care of Trees, a Davey company.

Shonts started with The Care of Trees (TCOT) in 2008. He has held a variety of positions, including production manager in the west Chicago TCOT office. He was promoted to assistant district manager of the Naperville TCOT office in 2015.“In his new role, Charles’ abundant energy and management experience will have a positive effect on quality of service,” said Geoff Cowan, Chicago market manager, north central operations. “Clients, and employees, will benefit greatly from his leadership in Naperville.”

Shonts is a 2008 graduate of Western Illinois University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences with a concentration in urban forestry. He is a 2010 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, which is Davey’s flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques. Shonts is a Tree Care Industry Association certified tree care safety professional.
